The 5th Ivor Novello Awards were presented by WE Butlin MBE and the Songwriters Guild of Great Britain.  They were broadcast on BBC Television on 6th June 1960.

Artists appearing on the broadcast included David Jacobs, Edna Savage, Steve Race, Millicent Martin and Elisabeth Welch, Tommy Steele, Ted Heath and His Orchestra, Lionel Bart, Russ Conway, Anne Shelton, Tony Osborne, Stephanie Voss and Frederick Jaeger, Paddy Roberts, The Beryl Stott Singers, The Irving Davies Dancers. Eric Robinson conducted the Orchestra, led by David McCallum
